Ferrari are launching a new limited edition special series of cars called Icona, that draw inspiration from the most evocative Ferraris of the 1950s while featuring todays advanced sports car technology. The first two cars entered into this exclusive series are the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2.
The SP1 and SP2 take their inspiration from the iconic Ferrari racing barchettas of the past like the 1948 Ferrari 166 MM, 750 Monza and 860 Monza. The Ferrari Monza SP1 is an uncompromising single seater road car with the driver seated behind the mid point of the car near the rear wheel, looking over a large expanse of bonnet which houses the companies 6.5L V12 underneath. That V12 is good for 810 PS (596 kW) at 8,500 rpm and 530 lb-ft (719 Nm) of torque at 7,000 rpm. Acceleration is rapid with 0-100 kph done in under 3 seconds, and 0-200 kph dispatched in only 7.9 seconds onwards to a top speed of more than 300 kph (186 mph).
