Combining new lightweight technologies, active aerodynamics, all-wheel-drive system and more powerful drivetrain, the new Lamborghini Huracan Performante strikes the balance of track car weapon and dynamic road driving.
The Performante has claimed the production car lap record of 6:52.01 min on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany. Though those lap times are completely un regulated, have no doubt that this is a very fast and capable car around a race track.
The significant weight reduction s achieved through the use of aluminum in conjunction with Lamborghini’s Forged Composite. Chopped carbon fibers are added in a resin to create complex geometrical shapes beyond traditional carbon fiber, to create a very lightweight and stiff material.
Lamborghini makes use of active aerodynamics for the new Huracan Performante, with the front spoiler moving flaps to optimise airflow and generate downforce or reduce drag as required.

Named after the beautiful Italian town of Portofino, the newest drop-top Ferrari replaces the outgoing California T. The twin turbocharged V8 has seen a power increase of 40 hp to a total of 592 hp, with torque remaining around the same mark at 760 Nm2+2 seating . This has been achieved through the combination of new pistons, con-rods, intake system, exhaust system and Variable Boost Management. That places the Ferrari Portofino as the most powerful convertible with a retractable hard top on the road today. That engine is part of the same Ferrari engine family that was nominated for the International Engine of the Year in both 2016 and 2017. The new chassis has benefited with a significant weight saving over the California through extensive use of modern production technologies and materials.

The two-seat convertibles are now more powerful yet more fuel efficient. With them, Porsche continues the tradition of the four-cylinder flat engines that were used in the Porsche 718 mid-engine sports cars that won numerous races back in the 1950s and 1960s, among them being the legendary Targa Florio and Le Mans.
The centrepiece of the new model series is the newly developed four-cylinder flat engine with turbocharging. The 718 Boxster develops 220 kW / 300 hp of power from two litres of engine displacement, while the 718 Boxster S attains 257 kW / 350 hp from 2.5 litres of displacement. In the S-model, Porsche also uses a turbocharger with variable turbine geometry. In fact Porsche is now the only manufacturer to offer VTG technology in production cars with petrol-driven engines, both in the 911 Turbo and in the 718 Boxster S. Impressive here are the considerable power gain of 26 kW / 35 hp compared to the previous Boxster models and the efficiency of the new turbo engines. The new 718 Boxster models have fuel economy improvements of up to 13 per cent.
